Berwick Research Institute Revolving Dinner: October 10, 2005

The NBMC created a 3-course meal for the Berwick Research Institute’s 2006 Revolving Dinner fundraiser. For the Revolving Dinner, participants were led between homes, eating one course at each home and viewing a corresponding art object at the same time. Our meal included three courses and one signature drink, all including Bitter Melon. We presented the history of the NBMC to the dinner participants, shared experiences from Bitter Melon Week 2005, and presented the nutritional, social, and cultural benefits of Bitter Melon. Each course also included a question and answer period. Participants were engaged at multiple levels, interested in the insulin lowering properties of the gourd as well as the community dialogue promoting effects of Bitter Melon week. The event was held at the NBMC headquarters in Jamaica Plain, MA.
