Volunteer-At-Large
Misa is an artist with focus on illustration and drawing. Through her artwork, she has been trying to make her life experience lighter, breezier, ignorant of the gravity that makes one bitter. Her artworks are records of her strategies and achieved weightlessnesses. By recreating her emotions and perceptions in art, she feels as if she is ridding herself of the weight that the world puts on her shoulders. She chooses her media based on their lightness as well. The flatness of printmaking, the delicate textures in papermaking, the fragile nature of soft wood all allow her to keep away from any weight she chooses not to see.
She is currently working on a children’s book about why it rains in the city. Misa holds certification as an arts educator in Massachusetts for grades K-8.
